Soo Young Kim
Soo loves Christ and enjoys life in him with ever-increasing fullness (John 10:10).
She realised that she wanted others also to “have this life”, and completed the biblical counselling training, which changed her life and relationships more than she ever imagined.
Soo provides biblical counselling and mentoring across the East Midlands, UK and beyond, both in-person and online. She can offer counselling in English and Korean. She has walked alongside people with a wide range of issues and distresses, such as anxiety, depression, anger, shame, guilt, grief, stress, relational difficulties, abuse, trauma, loss, and more.
She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling (MAC) from Westminster Theological Seminary (WTS), US. This program was offered in collaboration with Christian Counselling Educational Foundation (CCEF), US. She finished her church-based internship with Biblical Counselling UK (BCUK) and completed more than 250 hours of supervised practice through her internship and MAC.
She works for the BCUK Certificate course as a grader (which is equivalent to an RI role in CCEF). She is also a CFE (Counselling Field Experience) Supervisor for the MAC program at WTS. In addition, she has two decades of experience providing pastoral care within local churches in the UK. Soo has been married to her husband, Thomas, and they have two grown-up sons.
“Soo has been a loving, kind and inspiring influence in my life. She has taught me so much about who God is and Who I am through Him. I have gained insight, wisdom, courage and confidence in God’s grace and love, and will be using what she has taught me in many years to come.”
